New Chair and Board Update

  • March 18, 2022

Following last year’s local government elections, we are pleased to welcome four new Mayors to the Hunter JO Board and the region: Cr Steve Reynolds Mayor of Muswellbrook Shire Council, Cr Claire Pontin Mayor of MidCoast Council, Cr Philip Penfold Mayor of Maitland City Council, and Cr Jay Suvaal Mayor of Cessnock City Council.

At our first Hunter JO Board Meeting of the year in February 2022, the Board elected our new Chairperson, Cr Sue Moore Mayor of Singleton. Sue has been an advocate for regional collaboration since the proclamation of the Hunter Joint Organisation in 2019, and we are excited to have her at the helm of our organisation.

As the new Chair, Cr Sue Moore is committed to the continued smooth operation of the JO as we work together in the interests of the whole Hunter Region, including Mid-Coast.

With a new Chair, and so many new Board Members, we are excited to get into the work of 2022, and the new challenges and opportunities it will bring.
