Tyres remain one of the most commonly dumped waste types across the Hunter and Central Coast.
In 2025-26, tyres accounted for 9% of all reported illegal dumping incidents across the region.
Illegal tyre dumping doesn’t just spoil our landscapes. Dumped tyres can create fire risks, provide breeding sites for pests, and impact the natural environment.
Through the Hunter Central Coast Regional Illegal Dumping Program, councils are working together to investigate dumping hotspots and hold offenders accountable.
If you spot illegally dumped tyres:
Report it via RIDonline:

Together, we can help keep our region clean and safe.
The Hunter Central Coast Regional Illegal Dumping Program is an initiative of the NSW EPA and is co-funded from the waste levy and participating councils.
