Simtables in Noosa!

  • November 3, 2022

The Hunter JO’s Regional Project Officer (Simtables), Chris Dart, was recently invited by Noosa Shire Council to help facilitate a training and collaboration session over two days in mid-October.

Noosa Shire Council has become the most recent user of the Simtable technology in Australia, bringing the number of Simtables in the country to five! Similar to the Hunter JO, they plan to use the device to help communities better understand and prepare for disasters.

Alongside Damon Mudge from the Canberra Region JO, Chris helped to facilitate the session and share knowledge and experience from the Hunter JO’s Simtables for Community Empowerment program.

This invitation highlights the strong relationships between the Hunter JO and other organisations working on disaster management and preparedness as well as the importance of sharing expertise. It also demonstrates that the Hunter JO is being recognised as a leader and knowledge base for this exciting new technology.

Chris is continuing to deliver workshops with vulnerable communities across the Hunter. For more information, contact Chris on chrisd@hunterjo.com.au or head to the Simtables project page today!
