NSW JO Chairs Meeting

  • August 28, 2025

Our Chair, Cr Sue Moore, Mayor of Singleton recently joined other Joint Organisation Chairs from across regional NSW at our Joint Organisation Chairs Forum held in NSW Parliament House. State-wide collaboration with our JO partners strengthens our collective priorities and boosts our ability to engage effectively with the NSW Government.

Key items on the Forum’s agenda included:

  • Potential for a state-wide coordinated policy development and advocacy approach by councils to understanding and applying the new benefit-sharing guideline for large-scale energy developments
  • Shared priorities and recommendations to the NSW Government for achieving its net zero targets, highlighting the core role that local government can contribute to delivery
  • Progress of the Joint Organisation Net Zero Acceleration Program, directly supporting regional councils across NSW with delivery of their net zero targets
  • Regional Disaster Adaptation Planning initiatives being rolled out by JO’s through the Australian and NSW Government’s Disaster Ready Fund
  • Advocacy updates from Local Government NSW, the Australian Local Government Association and Country Mayors Association
