Several of our Member Councils have recently been recognised for their outstanding work and achievements over the past year at the Local Government Week Awards 2022.

These awards celebrate councils who demonstrate excellence across a range of categories such as arts and culture, events, communications, and planning. With the expertise and dedication that can be found within Local Government across the Hunter region, it comes as no surprise that many of our Member Councils have been recognised.

MidCoast Council received a highly commended award in the Cultural Change Innovation/Excellence category for their Know Your Zone project.

Lake Macquarie City Council received a special acknowledgement in the Arts & Culture Project category for their Creative Lake Program – Lake Macquarie Reimagined.

Maitland City Council won the Strategic Cultural Plan or Strategy category with their Roadmap to Healing – Reconciliation Action Plan.

Well done to all of our Member Councils for their hard work and enthusiasm for their communities.
