Adopting sustainable habits

  • June 23, 2026

Are you aware of the Small Acts Big Change initiative?

Through our grant funded waste programs, we’re trying to reduce landfill waste by sharing tips to help motivate individuals to adopt sustainable habits through a dedicated channel with local content.

From individuals to community groups to forward thinking businesses, we can change the way we buy, use and dispose of things for a better planet and better communities across the Hunter.

Latest highlights include:
– Plastic free July tips
– How to dispose of batteries correctly
– How to Report Illegal Dumping (RID) online
– Where your local Community Recycling Centre (CRC) is located, and what it takes

This initiative aligns with our regional advocacy to manage waste more efficiently, and delivers tangible benefits to the broader Hunter.
