Hunter Circular Knowledge Hub – ReUse Hunter Community Map

  • November 26, 2024

ReUse Hunter is a new community mapping tool with a unique offering, connecting the community to circular businesses who provide a service to repair, hire, donate, refurbish, or buy second hand within their own council area and across the broader Hunter region. Designed by the Hunter Joint Organisation and funded by the NSW Environment Protection Authority, ReUse Hunter has been developed to help community members re-use or repair products to minimise waste and keep valuable products in circulation.

While there have been numerous previous campaigns raising community awareness about the relationship between consumption and waste, these have not provided the necessary tools for direct engagement with solutions, thereby limiting their effectiveness in reducing waste generation. ReUse Hunter has been developed to provide a whole of region approach to the circular economy, allowing community members to add their favourite businesses and business owners a platform to promote their businesses to like-minded people.

Whether you’re looking to fix an old bike, donate furniture, or shop for preloved fashion, ReUse Hunter will help the community locate a circular business in their local area. With businesses across the Hunter region, they will be able to find services close to home that contribute to the circular economy and even save money.

If you own a circular business—whether it’s repairing, refurbishing, or renting out items – you can easily add your business to the map and connect with customers who care about sustainability. Or, you can add your own favourite businesses so that others can connect with the growing community of circular services.
