Regional Planning and Economic Development Forums 2021

  • August 27, 2021

Despite again reverting to remote working environments, we are continuing to facilitate collaboration and forums between ourselves, Councils, State agencies and regional stakeholders through online events on a number of fronts.

This includes temporarily adapting our quarterly Regional Planning and Economic Development Forums to shorter, more frequent online monthly events.

July and August Forums

Our July Forum recently focused on providing updates on the range of Hunter JO programs currently being delivered; explored opportunities arising from the Newcastle Airport runway upgrade; showcasing the City of Newcastle’s “New Move” Program; and exploring the potential for a regional approach for assessing overshadowing of roof top solar by development.

In August we will provide Councils with an update on the status and directions of a number of important regional initiatives being delivered by the State Government, including the review of the Hunter and Central Coast Regional Plans, Hunter Regional Transport Plan and Hunter Identity and Positioning Project.

Information and presentations can be accessed on the Events page of the Hunter JO website.
