As you may have seen, Newcastle Airport’s October passenger numbers have exceeded all expectations, marking a significant achievement since the pandemic and growing year-over-year! This record of over 110,000 passengers during October alone, and a year-over-year growth in numbers demonstrate the significant and increasing value of the airport to our region’s economy moving forward. 

We’ve been working in partnership with Newcastle Airport and Destination Sydney Surrounds North to develop and promote the outcomes of two Business Cases that identify actions to increase international tourism and air freight opportunities for the Hunter region. This includes actively engaging with a range of state and federal government representatives to promote the opportunities identified in each business case, and to seek partnerships and funding for their delivery. Both business cases recognise the enormous value that an international airport in the Hunter will contribute to our region’s economic evolution.
