The Hunter JO is working with our member councils to decarbonise operations and support the transition to net zero emissions. Through initiatives such as Council Net Zero Accelerator training, Revolving Energy Fund (REF) workshops, and the Powering Tomorrow Regional Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA), councils are empowered to reduce their emissions with access to cost-effective renewable energy, capacity building through strategic planning and reinvesting savings in new projects with sustainability outcomes. Together, these programs provide councils with the tools, collaboration and financial mechanisms needed to lead their communities towards a clean energy future in the Hunter.
