Greening Biofiltration Webinar 2021

  • November 26, 2021

On Wednesday 1st December, the Hunter JO’s Waste and Resource Recovery team (WARR) is hosting an online webinar on behalf of the Centre of Organic Research & Education (CORE). Working alongside scientists from the University of Newcastle, the Centre for Organic Research& Education has designed a new technology that uses household waste to produce a storm water filter soil.

This is a world first and provides a nature-based replacement to the dwindling excavated sand deposits that are currently used in storm water sand filters. This technology supports the transition to a circular economy model.

This online webinar will discuss the science of advanced biofiltration technology and look at case studies of the implementation of this technology in the City of Newcastle. Presentations in this webinar will include:

  • Circular Economy – Hunter JO
  • The Science of Advance Biofiltration – Eric Love, Lead Research CORE
  • Case Study: City of Newcastle – Luke Jaszczyk, Asset Engineer City of Newcastle, Infrastructure & Property
  • Circular Economy Supply Chain – Christopher Rochfort, CEO Starwater Solutions
  • Modelling ABT in Music – Dr Steven Lucas, University of Newcastle

Find out more about this webinar by visiting our website or click HERE to register your attendance. For more information about CORE, visit their website HERE.
