Disaster risk reduction training opportunities

Under the capacity building stream of Hunter JO’s Disaster Risk Reduction Program, we are offering to help fund disaster resilience training opportunities for Hunter and Central Coast council staff.

The Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience (AIDR) runs regular online masterclasses on managing organisational crises, meteorology for disaster managers, decision making under pressure, and more. AIDR is also hosting the Australian Disaster Resilience Conference in Sydney on 4-5th September.

To register your interest for the online AIDR masterclasses and / or the Australian Disaster Resilience Conference, please read the following information and complete the Expression of Interest Forms below. We are offering to help fund registration fees and places will be limited based on demand.

  • The Australian Institute of Disaster Resilience (AIDR) offers a range of online webinars and masterclasses https://www.aidr.org.au/events/ including the following;

    • Leadership in Crisis and Adversity Masterclass
    • Managing Organisational Crises Masterclass

    • Facilitating Successful Debriefs Masterclass
    • Gender and Sexuality in Disaster Risk Reduction | Webinar

EOI – Australian Disaster Resilience Conference

  • The Australian Disaster Resilience Conference will be held in Sydney on 4th and 5th September 2024. It brings together a diverse and passionate crowd from a range of sectors to share knowledge and build connections for a disaster resilient Australia – https://www.aidr.org.au/events/43845
  • We are offering to help fund registration fees for up to five council representatives. Councils will be responsible for covering travel and accommodation costs.
