Getting Local Government Disaster Ready

  • September 24, 2024

We’ve recently been awarded $851K from the Commonwealth and NSW Governments for a new 3-year regional disaster resilience initiative.

This project will build disaster resilience capacity and capability within 11 Hunter and Central Coast councils and their communities. This will be achieved by supporting
development and implementation of local and regional Disaster Adaptation Plans, embedding resilience into councils’ IP&R framework, facilitating a regional resilience
network, and supporting community engagement.

We look forward to continuing the important work of regional coordination and knowledge sharing with our member councils to build regional disaster resilience and capability, and to directly support the development of local and regional Disaster Adaptation Plans.
