Community Recycling Centre Program Update

  • December 1, 2022

Central Coast Council and MidCoast Council have now officially joined the Hunter JO’s Regional Community Recycling Centre (CRC) Education and Communication program.

MidCoast Council has three CRCS at Taree Waste Management Centre, Gloucester Waste Management Centre, and Tuncurry Waste Management Centre. Central Coast Council’s CRC is located at Buttonderry Waste Management Facility.

CRCs are permanent drop-off centres for common household problem wastes that can’t be collected via council kerbside waste and recycling collection services. They are free to use and accept items such as paint, lightbulbs, and oils. For a full list of problem wastes visit the EPA website.

The Hunter JO’s Regional CRC Education and Communication program aims to deliver a regionally coordinated approach to promoting community awareness of CRCs. To find out more about our Waste programs, visit our website today.
