On the 3rd of June, the Hunter Joint Organisation held a contaminated land workshop on how to interpret, interrogate and understand Preliminary Site Investigation reports and Sampling and Analysis Quality Plans.
The purpose of this workshop is to assist Council in effectively and efficiently managing contaminated land risks through the development application process in a way in which results in long-term sustained knowledge improvement.
The event saw a wide representation of Council staff attend, ensuring that Councils’ fundamental understanding of the contaminated land process was widespread throughout all departments.
The Hunter JO’s Contaminated Land Program continues to provide a hub for knowledge sharing between member councils, while developing a consistent approach to managing Contaminated Land across the Hunter region and the state more widely.
