As part of our EPA funded Contaminated Land Council Regional Capacity Building (CRCB) Program, the Hunter JO hosted a regional forum on Monday 27 February 2023.
The morning session focused on when to trigger a Preliminary Site Investigation (PSI) through the planning process with presentations from Angel Troke from the Department of Planning and Environment, Specialist Environment and Planning Lawyer, Sarah Mansfield, and a case study from Daniel O’Brien at City of Newcastle.
The afternoon session focused on auditors and the auditor system, and presenters included Sam Waskett from the Environment Protection Authority and local auditor Ross McFarland. Both sessions ended with an interactive Q&A panel.
It was great to see representatives from all Councils attending and participating in the discussion, and attendees appreciated hearing from the variety of presenters.
