In December, the Hunter JO hosted a Simtable Program Development workshop that was attended by Simtable users and program managers from across NSW and Queensland. This included Noosa Council, Ku-ring-gai Council, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, and several Joint Organisations.
With the number of Simtable programs in Australia increasing, the workshop was an opportunity for users to meet, share learnings, undertake training, and contribute to the development of collective program resources. We also identified opportunities for the group to work together going forward.
The Hunter JO is committed to leading collaboration amongst the increasing number of organisations using Simtables, with the aim of supporting communities to understand disaster risk and engage in preparedness activities.
Key outcomes from the workshop include:
- Reformation of the National Simtable Working Group for 2024
- Shared knowledge, materials, and resources to improved collective capacity
- Actions to address resource gaps, weaknesses, and risks
- A plan to advocate to Simtable LLC (the developers) for improved support to Australian customers
