As part of the National Bushfire Recovery Fund, the Australian government has launched the $280 million Black Summer Bushfire Recovery (BSBR) Grants program to help communities address priorities for recovery and resilience after the 2019-20 fire season.
This grant is available for Local Government Areas that were disaster declared as a result of the 2019-2020 bushfires. This provides further opportunities for affected councils in our region to fund their projects in social and resilience needs, economic recovery, and environmental recovery.
Grants are available from $20,000 up to $10 million, for which local councils, community organisations and businesses are eligible to apply. Applications for submissions opened on 22 July 2021 and the closing date has been extended until the 6th of October 2021. Successful projects will be announced by the end of 2021.
