As mentioned in our October Newsletter, the Hunter JO has held a Regional Forum in collaboration with the Cities Power Partnership (CPP) on Thursday 12 November, with representatives from all 11 Hunter and Central Coast Councils in attendance. CPP are an Australian local government climate network, that provides connection and knowledge-sharing between councils across Australia.
The forum gave an overview of the CPP program, as well as hearing from member councils within the Hunter JO who are already involved in the program. Participants also looked at the possibility of setting regional ‘priority pledges’ across council boundaries, to focus on collaborative delivery on key climate change initiatives across the region.
Three presentation were provided as part of the Forum, comprising;
- Cities Power Partnership – Darcy Pimblett and Portia Odell
- City of Newcastle – Adam Clarke
- Lake Macquarie City – Thomasen Knight and Ben Maddox
The outcomes of the Forum will be delivered to the Hunter JO Board in their December meeting for further progress on this strategic priority.
