Hunter JO Strategic Plan 2035 and Delivery Program 2025-2029 endorsed

  • August 28, 2025

The Hunter JO Board have endorsed the Hunter JO Strategic Plan 2035, a united vision to guide the region over the next decade, placing collaboration, communities, sustainability, and economic prosperity at the heart of the Hunter’s future.

The Strategic Plan 2035 reflects the shared aspirations of the ten Councils that make up the Hunter JO, setting out six regional priorities to drive coordinated action across housing, jobs, infrastructure, the environment, financial sustainability, and community wellbeing.

Implementation of the Plan will be guided by the Hunter JO Delivery Program 2025–29, a rolling four-year plan that outlines key projects and advocacy priorities. While Hunter JO and its Member Councils will lead delivery based on available resources, collaboration with state and federal governments and industry partners will be critical to success.

The Strategic Plan 2035 sets a clear, unified path for the Hunter’s transformation, shaping a region that is resilient, prosperous, and ready to meet the future together.
