Inspection training and support for councils continues

  • July 29, 2020
  • Contaminated Land, EPA, Hunter Councils, Inspection training, NSW, Regional Capacity Building Program

Under the NSW EPA funded Council Regional Capacity Building Program the Hunter Joint Organisation has been assisting Councils with the their responsibilities under the Underground Petroleum Storage Systems Regulation 2019. As part of this assistance, the Hunter JO has been providing Council officers with the opportunity to attend on-site UPSS inspection training. As the program moves on, on-site Underground Petroleum Storage System (UPSS) inspection training is expected to be completed by the end of August. This conclusion will be marked by Central Coast, Cessnock and Lake Macquarie participating in a joint inspection session across 5 sites over 2 days.

While this means that all participating Councils will have received on-site UPSS inspection training, we understand that not all Council timetables line-up in their respective inspection programs. In order to continue supporting Councils in this space, additional training will be available to all participating council staff upon request.
